Speech Therapy: Speech pathologists provide rehabilitative therapy to home health patients with speech, audiology, memory and swallowing disorders that result from accident or illness. Some of the types of patients who require this service suffer from traumatic brain injury, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or central nervous system diseases which cause difficulty in word articulation.
Medical Social Worker: Medical social workers help patients and their families, with the adjustment that often follows the impact of illness, such as sorting out financial, personal, and work problems. These services are performed under physician's orders. Registered Dietitian: Good nutrition is related to good health. The registered dietitian provides nutritional guidance and dietary direction in conjunction with the physician and family. this can include plans for special diets, weight control and eating disorders. Respite Care/Sitter: Often, the family or caregiver simply needs a break or must attend to something else. You may need assistance with personal cares, or simply housekeeping or companionship.
